Lampworking is a method of heating and shaping glass over a torch to create beads. Once the glass is heated to a molten state, it is formed by blowing and shaping with tools. It is also known as Flameworking.
My name is Lynn, I am a flameworker. Once my glass beads are done I use them in finished jewelry.
A little about me:
I live on Long Island, NY and admit that I have been captured by the enchantment of the beautiful and expansive seashore here. I consider a simple stroll along the shore in search of beach glass a most relaxing and precious privilege.
I have always kept my heart and hands involved in one art form or another, whether it is drawing, painting, photography, decorating, or being creative with digital imagery on my Macintosh.
By trade I am a professional graphic designer working in the broadcast industry for over 35 years and still get a thrill from the creative aspects of working live on the air.
Fire and glass have always been curiously irresistible mediums to many, if not all of us. Being able to combine the almost magical nature of the flame with the equally mysterious fluid properties of glass in this process known as flame working has lead me to an obsession I now know I could never abandon.
